The Danner story started in 1932 when Charles Danner spotted an opportunity to sell tough, reliable work boots to local people in Oregon, USA employed in the logging industry.

But Charles wasn't just intent on making money. He wanted to supply the best handcrafted boots anyone had ever seen. These were boots with purpose and integrity - footwear to equip those who choose the unlikely path, those who cut fresh trails, those who pioneer. Danner boots combined practical features, including substantial soles and sturdy, but comfortable leather uppers that would keep feet snug and dry in any challenging terrain. To this day the brand continues Charles' mission by manufacturing high-quality boots that are perfect for all kinds of adventures.

The fledgling Danner boot company faced many challenges such as the Great Depression and World War Two. But with the daring spirit of the Pioneers who had travelled the merciless Oregon Trail just eighty years earlier, Charles stuck to his principles.
