DETAILS
The Naples is Birkenstock's loafer — moccasin toe, hand-stitched apron and a keeper strap across the vamp, cut backless so it slips on like a clog. From the front it reads as a proper penny loafer; only the cork footbed and the lugged sole give the game away.
The footbed is wrapped rather than left exposed, so the cork edge disappears into the upper and the whole shoe sits cleaner than a Boston. Taupe suede, a soft grey-brown that shows the nap. Same anatomically shaped footbed underneath as the rest of the range, so it wears in the same way.
