The Ray-Ban Bill comes in polished Havana acetate with a blue lens — warm tortoiseshell against a cool lens, the most colour-forward option in the range.
Bill takes the Aviator's teardrop geometry and rebuilds it in acetate, with adjustable nose pads carried over from the original. The blue lens is a style choice rather than a technical one; it shades without the neutrality of G-15 or the contrast lift of brown. This is the non-polarised version, so it carries full UV protection but no polarising filter — screens and instrument panels stay readable. 56mm eye size. SKU RB2198 902/R5 56.
Ray-Ban began in 1937, when Bausch & Lomb built a green-tinted lens to cut the glare US Army Air Corps pilots met at altitude. The Aviator followed that year and the Wayfarer in 1952, and nearly ninety years on the name still works that optical-first thinking into frames worn far beyond the cockpit.
