After growing up in Latin America, he explored and camped in Cotopaxi National Park whenever he wasn't at school. The name of the company, Cotopaxi, reflects the optimism and sheer determination that Davis experienced while he was in Ecuador. Cotopaxi is the name of an active stratovolcano in the Ecuadorian region within the Andes.
