The Danner MTN45 Mid GTX in Smoky Olive is the 5-inch version of the MTN45, for when the path turns into a bog and you want something round your ankles. Danner pitch the Mid for extra stability and support on rough ground and wet days, and it weighs 40oz a pair.
The upper is nubuck leather with a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit lining, bonded to the leather so it stays waterproof and breathable without feeling stiff. Underfoot there is Danner's EnduroFoam Plus, a nitrogen-infused foam midsole made thicker and wider for cushioning, a TPU rock plate and a Danner-exclusive Vibram Megagrip N45+ outsole with Traction Lugs. A polyurethane-coated leather rand covers the toe and heel, the OrthoLite footbed lifts out and it is built on the DT-6 last with an 8mm drop. Recraftable and made in Vietnam. SKU 32886.
Danner was founded in 1932 by Charles Danner and has built boots in Portland, Oregon since 1936, earning its name on rugged, hand-built work and hiking boots for the Pacific Northwest. Plenty of its range is still recraftable, so a good pair can be resoled rather than binned.
