The Patagonia Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket in Autumn Orange is a waterproof, breathable three-layer shell, which is the sort of thing British rain asks for. It packs into its own pocket, so it can live in a bag until the weather turns.

The shell is Patagonia's H2No Performance Standard 3-layer fabric: a 3.5-oz 50-denier ECONYL 100% recycled nylon ripstop face, a polycarbonate PU membrane with 13% biobased content, a tricot backer and a DWR finish. Fabric, membrane and DWR finish are made without intentionally added PFAS. The hood adjusts two ways, has a laminated visor and rolls down to stow. The centre-front zip has external and internal storm flaps, and there are two welt handwarmer pockets and pit zips for venting. It is a regular fit, weighs 400 g, and the style code is SKU 85241-ATNO.

Patagonia was founded by Yvon Chouinard in Ventura, California, in 1973, and grew out of the climbing gear he was already making as Chouinard Equipment.
